The Montebello United Methodist Church Worship Schedule for Holy Week 2009:

Palm Sunday 5 April    10 AM in English and 12 Noon in Spanish Worship Service and fellowship

Good Friday 10 April   Service 1 to 3 PM of Scripture, Hymns, Homilies, prayer and meditation

Easter Vigil Saturday 11 April   6 PM to 12 AM   Koininea/Fellowship in a Community of Christ Love.  Following a simple community meal we will spend our time of vigil in prayer, meditation, spiritual conversation and teaching.

Easter Sunday 12 April   10 AM Bilingual Worship Service in English and Spanish  Following the worship service we will have a pot luck continental breakfast and an egg hunt for the children.

Koininea is fellowship in Greek.  In our walk with Christ we are strengthened spiritually when two or three are gathered in His Name.  In this time of the Church Year we experience the deep significance of Jesus’ Passion, Crucifixion and Resurrection. Understanding and appreciation of our lives as Easter People is magnified and enlightened by our willingness to deeply embody the events leading up to Christ’s Resurrection. Through the complete Holy Week Journey our Day of Resurrection breaks forth fully as the true dawn of this new day in our eternal unity with the Risen Christ.

We invite you to participate and join with us in this koininea through and beyond the Cross in the hope of a deeper walk in Christ and a joyful unity in the ever new Body of Christ.
